Caprese Pizza With Bacon

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded (use more if you love cheese!)
  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup basil pesto
  • 1 tomato, sliced into 1/4-inch thick rounds
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, sliced

Recipe

  • 1 cut the bacon slices in half and cook in a skillet over medium heat until still slightly chewy, about 8 minutes.
  • 2 transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and set aside.
  • 3 on a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to 16" x 12" rectangle and transfer to a lightly floured baking sheet.
  • 4 spread with the pesto and top with the tomato, bacon and cheese.
  • 5 bake at 425 degrees f for 20 minutes.
  • 6 sprinkle with the fresh basil and serve.
