Carbonara Sauce

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 1/2 cup prosciutto (lean bacon, ham can be substituted)
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese, grated

Recipe

  • 1 saute prosciutto and garlic in a pan until slightly crisp.
  • 2 drain fat and discard the garlic.
  • 3 add cream to the pan, stir to combine. remove from heat.
  • 4 in a bowl, whisk together the eggs and cheese.
  • 5 slowly add the cream mixture to the eggs and cheese.
  • 6 return the mixture to the pan and cook just long enough to heat through.
  • 7 toss with hot pasta.
