Chicken With Stewed Tomatoes

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 8 boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can italian-style stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • flour (for coating chicken)
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Recipe

  • 1 cut chicken breast halves in half again.
  • 2 mix flour, salt and pepper together in a plastic bag.
  • 3 add chicken pieces and shake to coat.
  • 4 in an electric frying pan or dutch oven, cook chicken in butter. brown on both sides, adding more butter if needed.
  • 5 add stewed tomatoes, oregano and basil.
  • 6 lower heat, cover and cook for about 1 hour.
