Dressed Up Italian Green Beans

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 2 1/2 lbs fresh green beans 
- 3 cups water 
- 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms 
- 1/3 cup chopped onion 
- 1 (8 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained 
- 1/2 teaspoon salt 
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper 
- 1/2 teaspoon basil 
- 1 teaspoon dried italian seasoning 
- 1/3 cup olive oil 
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese 
Recipe
- 1 wash beans, trim ends and remove strings. 
- 2 combine beans and water in a dutch oven. 
- 3 bring to a boil. 
- 4 cover, reduce heat and simmer 6 to 8 minutes until crisp-tender. 
- 5 drain. 
- 6 plunge into ice water to stop the cooking process. 
- 7 drain beans and set aside. 
- 8 saute mushrooms and next 7 ingredients in oil in a dutch oven. 
- 9 stir in beans and cook until thoroughly heated.
