Bolognese Sauce

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1 lb italian sausage
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup dry red wine
- 2 (28 ounce) cans tomatoes
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons italian seasoning mix
- 3 -4 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1/8 cup sugar
Recipe
- 1 saute the onion in the olive oil until the onion starts to get shiny.
- 2 stir in sausage and ground beef. brown completely. drain off any excess oil.
- 3 add in red wine, heat to boiling. reduce heat to a simmer.
- 4 stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, and all spices and sugar.
- 5 simmer for an hour, stirring occassionally.
