Crock Pot Italian Pizza Sauce Over Pasta

Total Time: 8 hrs 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 8 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 lb bulk italian sausage
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 1/2 ounce) can chili beans
  • 1 (2 1/4 ounce) can sliced ripe olives, drained
  • 1 medium chopped onion
  • 1 small chopped green bell pepper
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon quick-cooking tapioca
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • hot cooked pasta, your choice
  • shredded mozzarella cheese

Recipe

  • 1 in a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until no longer pink.
  • 2 drain off fat.
  • 3 transfer to your crock pot.
  • 4 add the next 13 ingredients except cooked pasta and shredded mozzarella cheese and mix well.
  • 5 cover and cook on low for 8 to 9 hours.
  • 6 sauce should be slightly thickened.
  • 7 discard bay leaf before serving.
  • 8 stir pizza sauce before serving over pasta.
  • 9 sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
