Creamy Italian Sausage Pasta

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 8 ounces uncooked spiral shaped pasta
  • 3/4 lb bulk italian sausage
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3/4 cup chopped sweet red pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Recipe

  • 1 cook pasta according to package directions.
  • 2 in a large skillet, cook sausage in oil and butter over medium heat for 5 minutes.
  • 3 add red pepper and onion; cook and stir until vegetables are tender and sausage is no longer pink.
  • 4 add broth; cook for 2 minutes.
  • 5 add the cream, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper.
  • 6 bring to a boil. reduce heat; cook over low heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 7 drain pasta.
  • 8 in a large bowl, combine sausage mixture and pasta.
  • 9 before serving, sprinkle with parsley.
