Classic Pesto

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup pine nuts (pignolis)
- 2 tablespoons garlic, minced (about 6 - 7 cloves)
- 5 cups fresh basil leaves, packed
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups extra virgin olive oil
- 1 cup pecorino romano cheese, grated (or parmesan cheese)
Recipe
- 1 process nuts, garlic, salt, and pepper in a food processor for about 15 รข€“ 20 seconds.
- 2 add the basil leaves to the processor bowl.
- 3 with the processor running, slowly add the olive oil through the feed tube and process until the pesto is completely pureed.
- 4 add the cheese and blend for about 45 seconds.
- 5 serve on pasta, sandwiches, chicken, omelets, etc.
