Baked Turkey Sausage Penne

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 1 lb dry penne pasta
  • 3 cups light pasta sauce
  • 1 1/4 lbs sweet italian turkey sausage links
  • 14 1/2 ounces diced tomatoes with juice
  • 1 large red pepper, julienned
  • 1 large green pepper, julienned
  • 1 large red onion, cut into eighths
  • 5 tablespoons light olive oil
  • 6 medium garlic cloves, diced
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 2 cups 2% mozzarella cheese, shredded

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 cook pasta according to direction on box.
  • 3 drain and set aside.
  • 4 heat 3 tbsp olive oil in large saute pan over medium-high heat.
  • 5 saute peppers and onion until tender-crisp.
  • 6 remove from pan and set aside.

  • 11 add peppers and onions back to pan and stir to mix.
  • 12 add pasta and pasta sauce and stir to mix.
  • 13 transfer half of pasta mix to a large baking dish.
  • 14 spread half cheese over pasta.
  • 15 add remaining pasta mix to baking dish and top with remaining cheese.
  • 16 bake at 350°f for 20-30 minutes until bubbling and cheese has begun to brown.

Easy Zesty Pizza Sauce

  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 (5/8 ounce) package good seasonings italian salad dressing mix
  • 1 tablespoon dried italian seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Recipe

  • 1 combine all ingredients except the oil in a medium bowl and whisk until well combined.

  • 1 -2 teaspoon italian salad dressing mix (dry, you can use more this just depends on your taste)

  • 14 ounces fire roasted diced tomatoes

  • 7 ounces chopped green chili peppers
  • 1/2 can hot rotel
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans chili beans

  • 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 chipotle chile in adobo, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 set oven to broil at 500 degrees.

  • 13 cook 8-10 hours.
  • 14 let the crockpot cool and place in the refrigerator over night.
  • 15 2 hours before serving, remove the crockpot from the refrigerator, turn crockpot on low, and heat the chili until hot.

Cannoli Parfait

  • 1 lb strawberry, hulled and sliced
  • 3 tablespoons amaretto or 3 tablespoons orange liqueur
  • 2/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted pistachios, chopped
  • 24 amaretti cookies, crushed
  • miniature semisweet chocolate chips

Recipe

  • 1 in a medium bowl, combine the strawberries and amaretto. cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours or overnight.
  • 2 in a large bowl, whip the cream with the confectioners' sugar until soft peaks form (tips curl). in a medium bowl, stir half of the whipped cream into the ricotta to lighten it. gently fold in the remaining whipped cream and cinnamon. fold the pistachios into cream mixture.
  • 3 place a layer of crushed amaretti cookies in each of 4 parfait glasses. top each with a layer of strawberry slices and then cannoli cream. repeat layering. if desired, top with miniature chocolate chips.

Recipe

  • 1 peel and cube into 1-inch pieces the vegetables.
  • 2 place into a roasting pan.
  • 3 combine with oil, butter, garlic, salt and sugar.
  • 4 add italian sausages cut into slices.
  • 5 cover and roast at 400°f for 30 minutes. uncover and stir.
  • 6 bake until golden, stirring often.
