Creamy Italian Broccoli

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 5
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons minced shallots
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 1/4 cups half-and-half
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 (14 ounce) package baby broccoli florets, cooked and drained

Recipe

  • 1 in a medium saucepan, melt butter.
  • 2 sauté shallot in butter until soft, about 3 minutes.
  • 3 stir in flour, seasoning, salt and pepper.
  • 4 cook over medium heat for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • 5 slowly add half-and-half and lemon juice.
  • 6 cook, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth.
  • 7 stir together sauce and broccoli.
  • 8 serve as is or with chicken kiev.
